Talkmobile ! Useless - it's rant time !
I have just tried to order a phone from talkmobile and they aren't interested in new business.
I saw a deal on their website for the HTC Desire at £18 pm for 24 months with no upfront fees - Smartplan.
Got them to call me to answer a couple of questions this morning and was told I needed to order before Saturday but needed my PAC Code.
Did as requested and so filled in the online order form which wouldn't process - so I called the 'need help ordering ?' number.
After a real struggle I got hold of someone to talk to and was then told I had phoned Carphone Warehouse and this deal wasn't available BUT they could offer it to me for £25 !! This was after arguing that they are two separate companies and NOTHING to do with eachother !!! 'So why is your number on their website I asked ?' Surprisingly, never got an answer to that !
I rejected the £25 pm offer but and stated that I wanted what has been offerred on the talkmobile website - chap argued the toss with me but then gave me a fake number to get hold of Talkmobile directly - I am spitting feathers by now !
Tried another number on their website and this girl wasn't interested in the slightest told me she would speak to someone and then I was mysteriously cut off !!
Impressive company !! They obviously have all the business they need...... I am disappointed but I guess I have learned all I need to know before I spend my money with them !!
Avoid them.
Rant Over !!!!

Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

Talkmobile and CPW are one and same.
The HTC Desire S is £25 through the Talkmobile web site (at least now it is, might have been different a few days ago).
Through cpw main site, the HTC Desire (not S) - is £18.50 on o2 for 24 months.
And if you want cheaper then dialaphone offer the S version for £17.92 over 24 months.0 -
Talkmobile and CPW are one and the same.
Actually, to clarify, Talkmobile are a subsidy of Carphone, same as mobiles.co.uk and e2save. The deals may be different with both so calling CPW for this offer may be fruitless as their deals differ.
Is this the number you have OP?

The HTC Desire Brown is still £18 pm through the talkmobile website - I have just seen it !
I tried to order it on their site and had a couple of problems so rang the number next to the order form but was then told I had called the car phone warehouse and not TM - I did realise that they are connected.
Yes the number is 0870 071 5888 - as advertised on the TM site !!

I was interested in the Samsung Galaxy S deal I saw on their website (£18 a month for 24 months, 300 minutes 1000 texts), and in their FAQ section it said that as well as ordering online you could purchase these deals instore at the Carphone Warehouse.
Fantastic, thought I, as it meant I would get the phone straight away instead of waiting for it to be delivered. I went to a CPW on Monday afternoon but the bloke there said the deal had been discontinued and that if I wanted to get the same contract instore then I'd have to pay £199 upfront for the phone.
That didn't seem right to me so I went straight home, ordered the deal through the TalkMobile website on Monday evening and DHL delivered the phone on Wednesday afternoon - can't argue with that!
The only minor gripe is they've said that because of the bank holidays it's going to take until May 4th before my number gets ported from o2. Ah well.. so far so (reasonably) good with them.0 -
Hauzen you have been lucky !
It really strikes me as a 'left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing' but it all seems contrived to me - fake deals to lure us in !!Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
I just signed up to talkmobile through e2save on a 12 month contract with a new sony xperia arc. My number ported no problems tomorrow. I can recommend going through e2save.
Also, I personally don't think that the deal you're looking at is good. It's a 1 year old handset already (the desire S is already out), and it's a 2 year contract.

It was the price I was prepared to pay for what I was going to receive - suited me fine !Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
My parents each took out a £12 HTC Wildfire contract with TalkMobile via carphone warehouse online, with cashback too, and have been very pleased with the service so far - phones came next working day and the numbers were ported on time too.
I was in carphone warehouse easlier, and discussing the different networks, TalkMobiles customer service is actually Vodafones customer service team - both TalkMobile, and Asda, and a couple others that use the Voda network, use their customer services team.
There are sometimes different offers in store than what there are online and it's often worth getting a good deal before it disappears.Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!

how did you get your number changed over? did you have to get the pac code before you did it? or could you order the phone and then get the number sorted out?0
