    Bank can't recall the payments.

Not been on benefits long enough to qualify for their budgeting loans which is the only thing I think would be available, crisis loans don't cover rent arrears as far as I know.

Waiting for the council to call me back, if they don't in the next half hour I'll ring them again.

Could you not use your Jsa to pay the rent and apply for a crises loan to live off?

I owe about £1200 in rent, my payment was for £700 of which I rescued £160. £130 JSA isn't going to cover it and I still have other bills to pay (although I am aware rent is most important, I still have to keep up my Jobseeker's agreement and this could be tricky without even a phone).

I will use as much of my JSA as can be spared and am lucky I have enough basic supplies to feed myself a minimum diet for a couple of weeks.

Office shuts at 5pm, they told me when I rang to ask when to expect my call back.

Oh dear I hope you get sorted soon can't really think of anything to help .
The only other thing u could do I's see if your landlord would let you have a lodger (I'f you have a spare room) help get the rent down a bit .

It's a teeny one bed flat, certainly no space for a lodger ;)

I live in an expensive city, hence why my rent may seem high to some.

I have just received a call back, they have said they will send another payment for the full amount I should have received next week (as it's too late to process now) and they'll recover as a normal overpayment.

Thank goodness for that, I can relax and enjoy this lovely weather again without running around like a headless chicken selling my soul!

I'm glad you got it sorted. x
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun
