Cheapest Nylabones & Kongs?

Can anyone recommend where would be cheapest to pick up some Nylabone & Kong toys?

I keep googling and looking at different sites, but then get fed up of comparing prices, factoring in delivery etc. If anyone has found any going cheap recently, please point me in the right direction!

Thank you!

  • Wilkinsons is good for nylabones. They aren't real Nylabones but cost me about £2.49 i think (chocolate or milk flavour). The equivalent sized Nylabone is bout £7 from PAH. They last AGES.
Be careful with cheap Kongs and make sure they have the hole in the end cos dogs can get their tongue stuck and have to have it amputated etc or it can cut off the blood supply ending in them dying.

To be honest for these smaller amounts (apart from the occasional odd deal on ebay) there's so little in it by the time you add p&p I tend to find it's easier just to go to pets at home or my local agricultural supplier. If you were doing a larger order eg for food which got you free delivery it might be worth adding it to the order when buying on-line, but otherwise I don't find the miniscule savings on kongs and nylabones worth the time spent searching.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That was the conclusion I was fast coming to! Thought it was worth an ask though in case someone had spotted anything particularly good recently - we've only had Julius 5 days, so haven't had to look before.

I'll have a look in Wilkinsons when I'm next near one

What breed is he? If he's likely to be a power chewer I'd probably go for the proper branded rather than the wilko version, just to be on the safe side. I've seen how quickly mutt can tear holes in something that was supposedly almost indestructible.

I buy most of my stuff food, toys, worming tablets, flea stuff etc from vetuk.co.uk

You do have to spend £19 for free delivery but your order could include food or heavy items too. So I usually stock pile a few things.

If you compare their prices to Pets @ home most of the Kong & Nylabone toys etc. are about £2-£3 cheaper per item so it soon mounts up.

They sell dog treats too if you want to top up your order!

I agree with elsien on buying the better quality stuff (at least to start off with) I find they last longer than cheap toys.

ps. Just realised it's you with the cute little pug! :) If you didn't have a dog before then you probably would not realise but the difference between the prices for most pet things especially like worming tablets between your vet, pets @ home and online is huge. You can make really big savings in buying exactly the same product from a reliable website.

eg. Drontal worming tablet £8.50 for 2 tablets @ pets at home probably even more at the vets  buy it from vetuk or several other websites (there's a sticky at the top of this thread) £1.68 per tablet!!!

Thanks so much - this was just what I was after. I've had a quick look and will be spending tomorrow putting together an order.

Julius is going to be coming to work with me so he'll need plenty of toys to keep him occupied, so I think we'll get up to the free delivery threshold just on toys :D (saying that though he spent all day Tuesday there with me and was good as gold, and I didn't even get a toy out until about 3pm, he just napped under my desk)
