Can you use raise in line rental as reason to cancel?

Options
I'm in the middle of an 18 month contract with Talktalk. I use broadband but not the phone, except for incoming calls. I'd like to switch to Plusnet. Can I use the fact that TalkTalk has just raised its fees (change of condition) to cancel my contract?

Many thanks,

Joe

Converse view. A change of price in contract is a change to the customer's detriment. So yes, unless the price rise is allowed for in the T&C's - and even then, I would expect some limitation in the T&C's on the amount of any rise. If such a condition permitts open ended rises, I would suspect ti could be struck down as unfair.

I would tend to agree. I made the post below in another thread before seeing this thread.
