When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Gooood morning:j:j
Hope everyone fine and dandy today and looking forward to the long weekend (if you have one:o). It's been lovely to have a short week...break me in gently after the Easter hols eh?:rotfl:
So, off to work today, nothing else happening - lots of wedding excitement at school:D
Time for my list:
  • check banking - move tax credits
  • check onepoll - its driving me mad, so slow and screened out mostly:(
  • packed lunch for dd2, drink for dd1
  • lunch from home for me
  • meal from plan tonight - jacket pots and chicken
  • email tutor about meeting up next week
  • check next week's meal plan and write shopping list
  • no heating
  • relax tonight knowing I'm off for 4 days:beer:
Right, off I go - hope you all have a lovely old day and are all well and happy:A:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Hello All,

I am in at work for a rest after our 3 year old resisted all attempts to get dressed this morning, made it in by the skin of my teeth lol.

I have a big review at 12 and hopefully it will go well and after I can gradually wind down towards the 4 day weekend.

    I'll be doing the following:

    - check banking
    - post skirt I sold on eBay and parcel up the nail polish I sold last night :j
    - charge phone at work
    - check OnePoll (I am also struggling with it just now)
    - packed lunch
    - final clean of the house before the mayhem of the OH's family arriving begins (I did this last night for 2 hours but our adorable 3 year old left a trail of yoghurt and dirty clothes round most of the house this morning lol so I will be doing it again tonight!)

    Have a good day everyone

    Hi everyone,

Pixie - Thanks for starting us off, Onepoll is annoying me too!
Candy - Keep your head held high & ignore them as much as possible!
Serendipity - Congratulations, must be such a relief!
Josie - Congrats on last night's win :)

I am in high spirits today thanks to my wonderful Great Aunt in Holland, she has sent me a large sum of money (well, large to me, probably pennies to some of the long term DFW's!) as a gift - once my OH has paid me the money he owes me I will be out of my overdraft for good! This came completely out of the blue, I had no idea it was coming...hence applying for that balance transfer the other day! Feels so good to know I will have a positive amount in my current account every month, I think I may even sign up to the VSP challenge!

    Today I have/will:-

    • [STRIKE]Heating off[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Food from stores[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Log calories on free app[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Log expenditure on free app [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Pop to Mr T's armed with a list, need to remind myself to check out the reduced aisle too & use coupon[/STRIKE] - Need to pop back tomorrow as I got charged for an item twice...& the moody bloke serving me didn't ask me if I wanted the vouchers for schools so I assumed they were finished but according to my receipt I earnt 7
    • Hopefully go for a run later if time allows, use free app to track pace - Did not happen unfortunately
    • [STRIKE]Check emails & online banking, move funds across for joint bills[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check cashback[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter receipt details into price checker[/STRIKE]
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x

    Greetings from Thailand.

I handed my notice in at work today after eight years of working for the same employer. This is Thailand and the American owner/manager of the language centre thinks nothing of treating my salary as an interest free overdraft. Sick and tired of late salary payments as well as having to pay for my work permit and visa which every other language centre in Thailand pays for their teachers. So I've got a new job starting in 10 days time for our main competitor at 60% extra salary.

Dug out some books I've already read and took them down to the local 2nd hand bookstore and exchanged them (2 for 1 in the shops favour) for some new reading material.
