Not sure if this should be here or where it should be?
Hi, I lent our Mortgage advisor(who was a friend) some money £3000 to be exact and got a written agreement from him signed by both parties that he would pay the money back on the 27th April. The 27th Came and no money was paid, i went round to pay him a visit and found out he had hung himself. I am now in a real difficult postion with a new born baby and dont know where i can turn?> Any help would be great, can i claim from someone? the money was transfered from my bank to his so there is a trace? Any help would be appreciated.

You may have a claim on his estate if he had any assets.0

What ILW said.
Defo no recourse anywhere else.
But if there was any inheritance to be had, debts and funeral expenses have to be settled first..
Hopefully as you have everything on paper they will recognise your claim.0 -

Hi
This is a tricky one you could go to the cab? he must have been in a bad state to do this.
Thanks

You will need to establish who the executor of his estate is and whether he had any assets. I think that you can get free legal advice from solicitors under some scheme or other so you could also look into this (someone else might be able to provide more details).
Was the loan lent to him on a personal basis or for his business as this is likely to make a difference?0
