US dollar account?

Hi all, I am new to the site so I hope I have posted this in the right section.
I live in the UK and I want to open a US dollar bank account. I know I can do this while I am in the US but I want to open one before I go at christmas so I can pay money in and use while I am away.
I know that citi bank offers and US account but I have not heard of them before.
Has anyone had any dealings with citi bank or know of somwhere else I can open a US dollar account from the UK.
Regards.
Pete.

I have recently opened a citibank account because I am going to have a few holidays in the states over the next few years. They are very highly regarded on Disney tourist websites with brits going abroad (which is where I found out about it). It gives quite a reasonable rate when you transfer money in and I was accepted even though I said plainly I would only use it for about a month a year. However one drawback is that you will be changed if you draw money from any other branded bank in the US.Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j0

Thanks for the reply, I think I will give it a miss. I do travel quite a lot to the US so I think it might be best to open an account while I am there.
Regards.
