hi! have recieved my statements from halifax and am about to calculate what im owed, but i recieved a letter from them the same day. it says thanks for my request and that i will recieve my statements, but it also says this "with regards to your request for information relating to manual intervention on your account, hbos plc is under no statutory obligation to record this information and therefore, i am unable to assist further with your request." please could you tell me what this means? will this affect my claim?

also, can i claim the overlimit fees on a credit card? i understand you can with a bank account, just wondering if this works for credit cards too.
thanx!

The request in the SAR for "manual intervention records" is because the banks have to prove your account cost them, say £30 for going over your OD limit, and one of the ways they could do that is by saying there was manual intervention on your account, hence some of the £30 being justified with that persons wages while intervening on your account.
As they do not keep records of this they cannot use this as a defence against your claim. In other words, this if GOOD for your claim.
Yes, you can claim back on CC's plus the interest you have paid on those charges as well.Addicted to Facebook
