If there is a better forum for this please move it...

I've received 2 marketing text messages today

One was from mobile 07781 475 002 offering me some sort of debt consolidation service

The other was from mobile 07977 368 972 telling me that I may be entitled to claim £3750 for the accident I had

I don't have any debts on any credit card (except the current month's balance which I always pay off in full) so I thought that was just a random marketing text.

I have however been driving a car for 8 years and I have had accidents in that time, so I'm wondering if that could be an insurance company passing my details on without my consent.

Has anyone received the accident message and never had an accident? This would imply it truly is random marketing I guess.

I would prefer it to be random marketing, as I value my mobile number, and don't like the idea that some company may be giving out my mobile number without permission. I'm really careful who I give my mobile number to.

    Ignore them.

They send the accident texts at random, even to non-motorists.

I guess they are a bit like horoscopes. They will always make sense to a few people!

if you are with vodafone then forward all spam texts for free to 87726 and voda will view them and then block the spammers number from the network.

never reply STOP to anything, just delete and ignore it. By replying STOP you have told them they hit an active number and your number may get passed on to other spammers.
  • I'm looking for a good text message marketing online program. I'm looking into "textboom", but when I signed up for sending or receiving messages then it was showing that you can access only limited no. of text messages and also my account is having problems being setup. I called the guy and he promised for more than a week now to have it setup, but nothing has happened.

This is a thread about STOPPING mass marketing texts... no one will want to help you set up more!

OP: they've sent the same thing to me and I haven't had an accident in my name at all. Its a scam or an ambulance chaser.
