Going to London tomorrow....

Haven't booked my hotel yet, intending to do that this afternoon/evening as im continually looking for a good deal. travelling on my own and going to be there for three/four days.
Hotel wise... i think im going to book a hotel in the docks region of london, it looks like a very good, modern 3* and is only £150 for the 3 nights. My only reluctance is the location - i'll have to use the DLR connection to get to the tube but should be ok me thinks.
Anyway... purpose of this post.... my original reason for travelling was work... which has now fallen through but im still travelling anyway... which means i've 3 days in london with lots of free time.
What I'd like to do...
well.... call me sad, but i'd like to some celeb spotting for a start
Where abouts in London should I be looking during the day? Im intending to do quite a bit of christmas shopping, but a bit of window shopping down london's top streets wouldnt go a miss
I'd also like to go out in the evenings, probably clubbing but there seems to be a serious lack of info on monday/tues/wed night outs in london - any tips on where to go would be appreciated or sites with good info. Im open to all types of music, crowds etc, just want a good night out and not half way across london - as i said im going to be around the docks so no dearer than a £30 taxi home at 3 in the morning!
Also, would anyone know where I might find movie shoot locations/bbc buildings (such as bbc radio 1 or eastenders set) etc? just curious and YES IM SAD!
I intend to do a touristy thing too, so whats peoples top tips for a london tourist attraction, centrally located please!
