are people aware that a child does not have to be in recipt of DLA to qualify?
you can still qualify if you are a low income family

Although the child doesn't need to be on DLA any more they do still need to be disabled, bear this in mind when applying as apparently since the criteria changed they have had applications from idiots who just want a holiday.0

maybe there is a blip on the site give them a call in the morning they can send out an aplication form
i guess this has opened the door to many more people aplying, hope it does not impact on those that really need the help
i was concidering asking for the driving leasons for my DD but by the time she will be able to do them she will be over 18, there is not anything as a family we need, although a holiday would be nice i just feel like a fraud when i do not NEED it but would like it0 -
They have also increased the amount you can earn to qualify.
Last year I had our first grant, got a wii, microwave and a holiday,
Just to be clear- the wii because we lived in a flat with no garden and my son is hyperactive, the microwave as my son would often kick off during meal times and the food would need to be re-heated and the holiday was to cornwall near my aunties house as my son would not of coped staying with her and I hadn't seen her for 4 years!
This year we have had £500 towards a £622 specialist T.V. cabinet from tough furniture as he likes to throw the wii and push the TV.Debt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨0 -

I tried applying years and years ago when the boys were small but got turned down (they were pre diagnosis)....not bothered since. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
ive just rang them and they said you do need to be on dla0

I don't know if it's your daughter or yourself who has the disability but if either of you have HRM then if you use the notability scheme they often pay for driving lessons for a young disabled adult or young adult carer (under 25 I believe)."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -

hi jetta
my daughter is on LRM so the notability scheme does not apply
is it worth giving the FF a call to see what the expiry is on driving lessons?
if i apply now but she does not actually use the funding i can just give it back cant i?0 -

I've never used family fund so really don't know sorry but surely there's no reason not to give them a call abut it? Nothing to lose :-)"Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0
