Apple HE Discount - Buying Instore?

Apparently you can only get the full HE educational discount if you purchase through the internal university internet network. However, I have seen others claiming to have got the full discount simply for holding offers from a university.

I currently hold an offer from a University and will hopefully be starting up in September, I also would like to buy a Mac now as my PC broke recently.

Would going into a store and proving my university offers qualify me for the full discount, and can I still get the 3 year warranty which is also offered to students? As some internet forums are saying the free 3 year warranty doesn't apply unless it is ordered online.

Many thanks
=)

you can buy macbooks instore using the HE student discount - thats how i got mine. yes you can also get the 3 year applecare offer instore too - works out at about £50 instead of £200 so definately worth it!

i dont know about the letters from uni, as im in 3rd year so just took my student card along. May be worth giving the apple store nearest you a quick call to check if you have to travel a distance

Ah right, thanks. I'll go there tomorrow and see what they say.

Plus, I've got an NUS card that doesn't state the name of my college on it for some reason, it actually says that I'm an NUS staff member, so maybe they'll just accept that.

I have no idea why it says I am a staff member, it's not as if I was elected by anybody!

    Thanks

You need to have the letter showing an Unconditional offer, they don't accept one for a conditional offer I tried a few years back.

If you wait until August or September before buying a computer from Apple, they tend to do great offers on the iPod Touch (get one for £20 if you buy a computer).
