Insure & Go Prepaid Account

Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody could give me some advice.
I recently had a letter from Raphael's Bank telling me that the Insure & Go Prepaid Card Account is no longer in operation. It says if I have an outstanding balance (which I do!) I should email them asap and let them know how I want my refund.
I was a bit wary of this letter out of the blue but I emailed them just saying I have an outstanding balance and would like a cheque refund.
I received an email back from them asking for a copy of my passport  and a utility bill with my current address (which is the same address as they sent the letter to).
I am now really wary of this and would be grateful if anyone has any advice on how I should proceed.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Natalie

I have had the same letter and the same email conversation. I'm equally worried that this is not genuine. Somehow the wording of the letter doesn't seem right. It seems to imply that they don't know if I have an outstanding balance and does not contain any account number or other details. I have emailed back asking THEM for proof of identity.
I can't understand why they don't just send a cheque.0 -
Good to know I'm not the only one!
It would be really interesting to know if you get a reply Richard.0 -
I had no reply to my request for them to provide proof of identity. Not sure what that means - they might have just got fed up with me. I am fortunate that any outstanding balance is very small, so I'm not too concerned about this.
I don't know what to recommend - but you could contact Raphael (Google Raphael bank to get to their website) to ask if the emails are genuine.0 -
Update - I did get a reply where they have offered to call me to discuss. I think this is genuine - but don't take my word for it.0

I got the same email - definitely seems more genuine now...0
