car crash

I was driving my car quite slowly and a car came around the corner and smashed into me. I have ins, tax etc but the driver of the other car had no insurance and di not have a licence. My car is a write off . Will my insurance company pay out. Police were involved

Not your fault as you were hit by an uninsured driver. However, if you did not protect your ncd then you could be in for quite a shock when you renew.Never Knowingly Understood.

If whoever hit you is identified (car or driver) but uninsured and caused the accident then......
if you claim off your own insurance you will lose ncb, get a premium loading for an at fault claim and have to pay your excess.
If you claim off the MIB you keep your NCB, will get a possible premium loading for a non fault accident and won't have to pay your excess.
The MIB might take longer to process the claim and will also pay consequential costs like car hire, loss of earnings etc but you'll have to fund them up front first.
Your own insurance will probably be quicker but will likely only give you the hire car etc if your policy explicitly states it will0 -
