But without knowing what the OP paid, the compensation levels might not be high enough. More details here:

If you do go down the route of a SNAD claim, then it might be worthing checking with the people on the ebay forum on here.

awww that totally sucks. If you paid by paypal you can open a SNAD against the seller and return for a refund, I don't know if that's something you want to do. I think you'd also lose the postage so that might not be an option.

you could ask the seller first for a partial refund to cover dry-cleaning, seeing as the dress isn't as described and go from there maybe?

Soon as i contacted her, she didnt dispute the problems, just said send it back. Ive opended a dispute with paypal.

Part of me wants to fix the dress cos i love it so much, the other half is blooming angry, she should have been honest, but doubt she would have got as much as she did for the dress

When you open it through ebay itself not paypal dispute you can email ebay customer support and ask questions.

Through paypal is different i once put a photobucket link to support a claim but paypal never mentioned it and the seller just refunded once i did that.

Ebay sorted out the parcleforce label not the seller or me. I am sure they took the necessary insurance out.
  • Hi, an update - paypal have said once ive returned it, i will get my money back
I have left a neg feedback to which she replied, i want the dress cheaper so thats why i wont return it :( not good

Thats my point if you had gone though ebay it would have been different. Paypal don't pay your postage back you have to. :(. Everyone always says open a paypal dispute but an ebay dispute is better i think currently.

How did the seller get it to you royal mail? Courier? I have used http://www.parcel2go.com/ twice before and they collected when they said and delivered in their stated time frame. How much did the dress cost you? As someone said make sure you pay extra if needed when it asks about value.

Do a follow up to the feedback via the feedback forum (top of your feedback page there is a link somewhere) you left saying not as described or in terrible condition and its being returned. If they try leaving a false positive for you then you can get it removed.
