Well I suppose we could as the letter as sent to Dh's old address but would rather just get it sorted as you know full well it'd keep coming back to haunt us..
Yeah, that's probably the best course of action.0 -
You could ignore them, but that won't stop the letters turning into harassment - which you really don't need.

So what will happen once we've sent the letter? Will they keep on writing to dh or will it just stop? I presume they'd have to provide proof that there was payment/acknowledgment within 6 years to take him to court?
Sorry for all the questions! Just want to be able to give DH all the info he needs when he gets back tonight.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

UNLESS they can prove that there has been either written contact, or any payment within the last six years the letters MUST stop, otherwise they will be committing a serious criminal offence. This is also explained by File_Wizard in the thread that I posted the link for.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. You're welcome i_e. Don't ever be frightened by Debt Collectors - they are trained to 'intimidate' yet they can not act outside of the law.:beer:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
