its easier for them to settle when its knock for knock or 50/50 (incidentally the exact same thing happened to me last week but i saw it so beeped her off the road with no damage to us).
as you are 100% in the right, no liability is required from you, and dont accept anything less than full payout.
Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)

new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,000

best advice I can give you is to deal with them in writing, and state that you catagorically do not accept any liability for this accident. The insurer (despite appearances) are acting on your behalf and cannot settle without your consent, take it to court if you have to.

The insurer have seen the roundabout and agree after I provided them with the highway code that using the left lane is correct. It is a standard 4 exit roundabout. 3 exits have 2 lane entrances and 2 lane exits. 1 has a two lane entrance and a 1 lane exit.

The one I joined from had two entrance lanes the one I was exiting on (2nd exit straight ahead) had only one exit lane. The right hand exit lane has been hashed out. Meaning if I selected the right hand lane to go straight ahead I would have to cut from right to left in order to exit. There are no marking or road signs indicating which lanes to use.

Don't really want to post the Google map as you never know who is reading the forum.

Under no circumstances should the other driver have used the right lane to take the 1st left exit!

This wasn't really supposed to be a rant about if I am in the right or wrong.

More about the shear incompetence of my insurer and the fact they provided my witness statement without one in return. In my opinion these should be exchanged thus allowing the insurer to check the story against the damage to the cars.

The other driver having my statement surely allows them the opportunity to fabricate a more realistic counter statement.

    This is my main grumble!

Which insurer? Just stick to your guns - they'll probably eventually take the path of least resistance so if you put up more of a fight than the 3rd party. Just an idea.

It happens, if it goes to court that would be taken into account and both parties will need to write fresh ones anyway

Ok, but I can show you traffic islands where the left hand lane is left only, middle lane is left AND straight on and right hand lane is right.
You can guess what happens..... Fool in the left lane tries to go straight on while driver in middle lane is turn left. Not good!
