No dial tone

I have just noticed that I have no dial tone on my home phone, but the BB is working fine, on the same phone line. I bought a new phone but I still have the problem. I took off the BB filter and plugged the phone in directly but to no avail.

Any ideas as to a solution ?

we had same issue at work place.The bb will work even if one of the telephone wire is intact.For telephone service both wires need to be intact.This was explained to us by BT when we had loss of telephone service on couple of times due to road works without any loss of bb on the same phone line.

Who's your provider? Have you called them?

Have you tried making any calls?

Is the volume down on your handset?

Are you connected to the master socket?

Loss of a dial tone does not necessarily mean loss of broadband. If the problem is not with your handset or extension wiring (i.e. if you have tested from the master socket) then you need to report it as a line fault to your line rental provider.
