Haven - Presthaven Sands

Just a quick question :D

Has anyone been to this site this season? Was the new pool/slide up and running? Is it any good?

We went last year but thought the pool was a bit naff so we weren't going to bother packing cossies next time :p but I saw on the website they'd refurbed the pool and added outside bits.

We're going again this year (it's a fab site for the dogs) but are in two minds as whether to bother with cossies and extra towels this time (we go by train so need all the packing space we can get for food/dog food etc)

Thanks :D

  • Glad you have said the site is good for the dogs, we're going in september and taking our two bullies along.

It's great for dogs - loads of sand dunes to run around on and the beach to chuck sticks (lots of them too!)

You can go for a good long walk everyday without thinking - we did this yesterday :D

Had a few nights there at the beginning of April on one of the newspaper offers.
The Caravan Park Reception is over a mile from the main road, and another mile-and-a-half from Prestatyn.
Caravans could be up to half-a-mile from Reception.
I was amazed how many people in Reception waiting to book-in had done the journey by public transport.
Taxi companies must make a mint picking people up at Prestatyn train station.
Not too bad in decent weather, but folk must get absolutely drowned trying to get anywhere when it's chucking it down (often in N.Wales).

Didn't use the entertainment facilities, but it looked as though whatever work was going on by the indoor pool was well progressed.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Prestatyn through to the far end of Abergele is often a get away from Merseyside and Mankchester and does have good travel links (although i know your point about presthaven) Robin hood (lyons is the same) but the choice is often holiday with a bit of a stuggle or not at all. We used to travel the welsh coast on a rover ticket as kids with "me mam" as dad was working the holidays and decorating the house. We used to carry our back pack which was half clothes and half food each and mum took a pram for the journey even when we were teenages to carry alot of stuff. Never a taxi always shankses pony great memories . Today my 14yo wants a lift to the cashpoint and last weekend she and a few others got a taxi to mcdonalds !!!!!! i nearly choked on my sugar buttie
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

We were there last week and the "lazy river" part was finished, not sure what had been changed inside but I didn't see any work in progress!
