managed a nsd yesterday
and hopefully another one today as well
supplemented the guinea pig food with grass and dandelions ( along with kale and carrot) nessie what do they need to keep their teeth from growing does normal veg help to wear them down or do they need something special to gnaw on ?
hopefully wont need to go to the shops till friday as i have plenty in
Hope you dont mind me replying, you can use wood from apple trees for the piggies to gnaw on but as long as you supply lots of hay they should be able to keep their teeth in trim. Its not the front teeth that cause the problems its the back ones and they need to continually chew to keep them down. Hope this is helpful.0 -
I'm just cooking a chicken curry - bought a whole chicken and jointed it, put all bits in except breasts (will use them probably in a pasta dish tomorrow). Then I stretched the curry with onions, potatoes, green beans, peas, chickpeas and a tiny bit of cabbage so it is going to make a lo without costing too much. Whatever isn't eaten will go in the freezer.
Hubby and I are trying our hand at growing our own and did some planting today - I don't know if it will be a success as usually any plant I go near tends to die!!! But I do like the idea of having fresh organic veg.0 -
£10.07 spent in the last few days.
Lost track a bit as went out with my sister on Friday and I paid for some bits and she paid for others, so i've guessed a bit on that.
£1.57 in Aldi on courgettes, broccoli and ginger.
£4.00 in Morrisons on 2 x shampoo, 2 x conditioner, crumpets and plain flour. Also got a chicken which i've included in my overall total, but my sister paid for.
£1.00 today in Tesco on 2 x packets of cous cous. Stayed at my sisters last night so didn't prepare lunch as usual. They'll do lunch for the rest of the week with some veg mixed in.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Thanks for the hugs girls - I really need them at the mo :kisses3:Mothership wrote: »Here I is
All you do is mix them with the soil, water and plant up, no hassle and you don't have to wait. Go back in a few hours and water them again the gel will absorb a lot of water. You only have to do this the first time. Happy gardening
So sorry your having a tough time, BIG hugs to you! xxxHippeechiq hope you are doing ok hon x
with my growbags . i have chopped out 3 holes to plant my toms in but before i planted them in stuck my trowel in and loosened the soil then just bung in your water crystals and give it a mix and plant as normal
Before reading your replies, I went ahead and measured out 3 x 10L of compost in my wine bags and mixed in the crystals and watered - (allowing for the aforementioned "expansion") and waited for a few hours, and nothing happened  The compost didn't increase in volume, and I'm past caring now.....BUT tomorrow is a new day, and provided I'm not in A&E with DD (she still has Diarrhoea & Stomach Cramps....lonnnng story which I wont bore you with) I'm just going to bung the compost in the wine bags with the crystals, add the plants and hope for the best as you've both suggested
Thanks again for replying, and for your kind words, they are always appreciated x

O dear, hubby liked curry so much (and so did I to be honest - mustn't blame him for everything!) that there ended up not being enough to be worth freezing. However, now I think I will cooked up the two breasts that I had left over and put them with the curry and that makes another serving. Yay!0

Sorry Hippeechic, I think we posted at the same time so I didn't see your post until I had posted mine. Sorry to hear that you have been having such a rough time and that your DD is so unwell at the moment - all very exhausting for you I should imagine. Try to take some time to relax tonight if you can. After all, as my favourite heroine, Scarlett O'Hara said 'Tomorrow is another day.'0
