Blue Screen Help

DD has an asus Eee PC netbook which has a problem. When switched on a blue screen with white writing comes up but doesn't stay long enough to be read. It will only let her sign in a safe mode & despite using safe mode with networking she is unable to get on the internet to download any anti malware programmes it just keeps redirecting her to Win 7 anti-spyware, anyone got any ideas how we get round this? All help/advice gratefully received

You can run a malware scan from a USB drive. If there is nothing important on the Netbook, you can restore it to Factory settings. If there is, you can can use a Live USB system to retrieve your important data, though you may need to partition the USB drive.
How would you like to proceed?0 -
So, managed to get online using firefox as opposed to Windows Explorer. Did the malware thing, 154  items now deleted & Avast antivirus now installed, as somehow she had managed to delete Microsoft Security Essentials. Managed to read enough of blue screen to discover that she has an internal power error(as does the laptop:D) & now it's attempting a startup repair, which has been going on for ever & which can't be cancelled. This started after she tried to log in & access was denied. To be honest I am not all that au fait with computors but believe anyone can do anything with instruction, so if any more advice is available please feel free as I am slowly losing the will to live here.
Thanks
