Dodgy product at Plumbworld

I purchased a Sienna Straight Curved Shower Screen from plumbworld.co.uk (see page sienna-straight-curved-2926-21366 on that site) but the glass fell out of the frame after 4 months use, seriously damaging my bath. My builder examined the screen and concluded that the fixing that holds the glass onto the frame is inadequate and that the shower screen is a poor design, and this has been backed up by further independent second opinions.
The product has a few very glowing positive reviews which influenced my decision to purchase it, but now I wonder if those reviews are genuine.
I posted the following review of the shower screen on the retailer's web site:
After a number of weeks my review hasn't been published, even after reposting the review weeks later; my emails to customer service about this this seem to have been ignored.
If you're thinking of buying anything from Plumbworld, be aware that the published reviews will always be glowing reviews and if my experience is anything to go by, you'll never see a bad review.

I bought this shower screen which was correctly fitted by my builder who was fitting-out our bathroom bathroom, but after a few months noticed a leak under the edge of bath below the hinge - it appears that water was leaking into the hinge and flowing to the back of the bath where it meets the tiled wall. The edges of the frame were silicon-sealed to prevent leaks but obviously the hinge cannot be sealed as it's a moving part. A few weeks ago, whilst cleaning the bath, the screen was opened inwards over the bath and the glass fell out into the bath, seriously damaging it - I had gone a few minutes to fetch more cleaning stuff. On inspecting the glass and the frame it had fallen out of, I could see that the fixing is totally inadequate, just a plastic lug at the bottom of the frame that fits into a concave slot in the glass, with another lug fixed to the top of the frame via a single screw to hold the glass at the top via another concave slot. The fixing is inherently weak and couldn't be expected to hold the glass in place when the shower screen is opened. I couldn't honestly recommend this product.I gave the product 1 star for Overall Rating and 1 star for Build Quality, 3 stars for Looks and 2 stars for Value for money. I selected "Would not recommend this product" from the choices given before posting the review.

As a general rule I do not take any notice of reviews published on a site that is selling the product unless there is plenty of evidence that they publish poor ones and allow them to stand.
In fact I will stay well away from any site that has only glowing reviews of items it sells because it's a fair bet they are acting dishonestly and censoring bad ones. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
