Hi
I was wondering if i could get some advice.
i got a letter from Barclaycard saying as I have been keeping up with my payment plan on my card that they can give me the chance to pay a lump sump of £1150 rather than carrying on paying £50 a month on the remaining balance of £2500 by the 13th may to call them before this date. I called the number and they said I have to make the payment by this date. There is nothing in the letter that says when I have to pay it by just to call by the 13th, they said i had to pay the full amount by the 7th may. i said if i hadnt called till the 12th then what? i was told that i could pay it by the 13th as theres a 5 day window.
Where do i stand on this and why have i received this offer?
Thanks

If you can find £1150.00 then tell them you want a confirmation letter stating that your payment is a full and final settlement before you pay them !0

The OP has already received a letter saying that £1,150 will be accepted to clear the debt.
You've received the offer as they want you off their books, plain and simple.
This would however appear as a partial settlement on your credit file which would make obtaining further credit in the future more difficult.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Thank you for the advice!
Bit weary on the doing it especially with the possibility of problems applying for credit in the future. (thanks izools).
Will give them a call in the morning and discuss again.0
