Diamondbrite maximum cost

I'm going to take delivery of my wifes new Fiesta on Friday from Polar Ford. They're trying to sell me a Diamondbrite treatment. The cost started at £199 which I know is well over priced. I can get the treatment with after care shampoo etc from ebay for £40 tops. When I told Ford how much I can buy it for they offered it to me for £100. If I wanted Ford to do the application for me what do people think is the maximum price I should offer them? Anyone had any experience negotiating with Diamondbrite prices?

Don't negotiate, it's a waste of money.... They're just selling extra's to make up for any discount you think you got on the car. It's a magic bullet for people who can't be arsed to looking after their vehicle.
If your spending money on a new car, you should be prepared to look after it!! And that doesn't mean a monthly visit to a carwash!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

You can't "offer" them a price on their labour. They'll charge whatever the hourly rate is for the bodyshop and thats what you'll have to pay or do it yourself.
I can guarantee that if you've paid £40 for it from Ebay, by the time you add their labour on it'll cost more than the £100 they offered you it for.0 -
There's too much commission built into the sale of the product to discount it more than 25%. The salesman gets a cut, the sales manager has his slice, so does the dealer principal, the snake oil salesman etc etc. The guy who actually applies it will be the minimum wage valeter. The man without a signature.0

Thanks for the advice. I'm waiting for the guy at Polar to give me a call to ask if I want them to do the Diamondbrite. I'm going to suggest if he can do it for £75 I'll go ahead. If not I'll just do it myself. It's worth a go.0

Don't waste your money, the film will have been washed off within 6 months, that's how long it lasted on my pick up.
Even if they do it for £75, that would buy you a large bucket of Carnuba wax which you'll still be using in 20 years.0 -
all depends on how you look after the car , if you don't wash it one month to next pay for it
if you wash the car regular don't bother get this stuff
