Import of German Shepherd puppy

Hi everyone,
I want to buy a german shepherd puppy in Germany, however, the pup will be ready to go at 8 - 10 weeks of age.
I am aware about DEFRA and PETS scheme, and the steps required..however I was wondering if there is any other way that I may be unaware of that you can import a pup at that age?
Quarantine is not really an option for me
want the pup to live with me for the 6 months, and get used to everything.
If not, my only other option is to buy from a UK breeder. Any recommendations of good GSD breeders ?
Many thanks

There is no quarantine as such any longer but dog can not travel into UK earlier than 6 months after his/her rabies vaccination so you could not possibly bring a pup in here till he/she is 8 months old....he/she would have to stay with the breeder till his passport is done/vaccinations and time after sorted...0

Don't do it. The rescue kennels are bursting with GSDs that need a new home. Even if you feel you must have a puppy, why does it have to be imported from Germany?

OP - just looked at DEFRA and PETS to see if anything has changed - nope....
I really feel that 6 months rule is crazy but I can not see how this can be avoided...
For ayone else who may not be aware of the regulations for PETS scheme:

Why do you want to import from Germany? Do you plan to show your dog, do you have any specific line in mind that you want?
Importing only really makes sense for breeding and/or whowing purpose when one is looking for a specific characteristics of certain lines, has experience to use those to better the breed etc etc
Same for wanting to show the dog.
If it is a pet you want.... look in UK.
If you want a pup - reputable breeders only.
If you are happy to take on on grown up dog and have experience to take one on:

In any case - good luck, GS are wonderful dogs0
