how long does your tumble dryer take to dry a load?
i think my tumble drier is acting up - it seems to be taking at least 2 hours per load to dry a washing - is this normal? i am sure it only used to take at least 90 mins. our tumble dryer had an incident with one of my bra underwires which left a tear in the fabric of the machine which OH repaired. plus, the filter has split whch means it doesn't capture all the fluff anymore.
anyway we are about to get a new one so approx times would be great

Depends on how wet your clothes are and size/weight of load! I assume that you have checked that it is venting warm/damp air? We always spin clothes a couple of times before tumble drying!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

It depends on the load. The bedding from my bed can be done in an hour or so, but a load of towels takes 2 hours. The same time difference applies comparing drying cotton t-shirts and undies with drying jeans and jumpers.
Have you checked the vent? Mine stopped working as well and it was because there was a piece of cardboard (no idea how it got there!) wegded in the vent, and all the fluff had built up round it. When the dryer was on, there was no way for the damp air to escape, so stuff just tumbled round in the damp and took ages to dry.
If it is that, you can clear the vent and fix it for free rather than buy a new one! Here I go again on my own....0 -
mine is only a year old and takes 50 mins for half a load hope that helps. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

Is that on high or low setting? If it's on high setting I suspect one of your heating elements has broken.I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0

testing elements is easy......empty drier, hand in front of exhaust, there will be a noticable difference between heat settings if all is well0

Mine usually takes 50 mins for relatively light stuff (fleeces, tracksuit bottoms, the sort of stuff that doesn't hold much water), about 70 mins for sheets/towels, and about 90 for heavier stuff like jeans etc.
Sounds very obvious, but have you accidentally pressed in the button for low heat? Also, as said above, check the vent. My MIL had a condenser dryer and a newspaper had fallen behind it. When we found it, the newspaper was absolutely sodden, and obviously was just wicking moisture back into the TD. Should check the filter too, in case that's very blocked, and some models have a second filter at the bottom.0
