Accomodation in Winchester help!

If you pick the right area, Eastleigh isn't too bad. I've lived in worse.
I lived in Royston Avenue, that area is nice to live in tbh, if you think that's bad you should try moving to Stoke
OP - can I ask - is your DD actually going to work in Winchester or near? Just asking because when I was working there, it was in Hursley rather than Winchester, but a lot of people just say Winchester.0 -
I must admit I was being somewhat flippant - there's nothing wrong really with Eastleigh but I would much prefer to live in Winchester rather than Eastleigh!0

Depends what standards you are used to I guess, it's all relative. For me, you would have to pay me to live in Eastleigh. I find it depressing just going through it on the train (to West Quay)
Mind you, you'd have to pay me to live in Stanmore, Winnall or Highcliffe too.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I lived in Eastleigh until I went away for university, and now live in Liverpool. Believe me, Eastleigh isn't that bad at all; at least you don't get news of shootings every week there. They're usually not even the first item on the news they're so common here!
There's no real no go areas round there, though there are parts of Southampton I would definitely avoid. Of course the worst place of all is Portsmouth. Don't go there.
(I do like living in Liverpool really, but it would be nice to not pay so much on car insurance for example)0 -

I wish her goodluck we're currently looking for a 3 bed property in Winchester. It's not going good, there is a severe lack of affordable housing and we are really struggling.
Only useful comment I have is to stay away from WinnelTurning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0
