Scrap caravan or repair?

Have just moved our 1999 ABI tourer out of storage and to a relatives house with a view to selling, as we don't get chance to use, all well and good.:)

Now here's the bad news. Arrived at house, pulled caravan onto drive and discovered that either on route or as we were pulling caravan onto drive, the inside of the front window has caved in, exposing damp and rotten wood, a total mess.

We knew that the window seal was no good, but having access to the van was always a problem as it was stored in Hereford and we live in Birmingham, so it's at least 1 1/2 hours drive, so difficult to get access and get things done to it. We suspect that the problem was already there when we bought it from Broad Lane leisure in 2006.

Now we can't sell it. My question is, is it worth getting this repaired or should be just scrap it?

PS. The caravan was supposed to have been stored indoors, which is what we were told and were paying for, so not happy :(

Yes, but didn't think we would be able to claim as wouldn't it be classed as wear and tear?

When our caravan is serviced each year the dealer provides a "damp report" which indicates any signs of dampness. Did you get one?

Yes we did, and a temporary fix was quoted as £500 and a proper fix was £2,000
