I booked flights with BMI and paid a £4.50 fee for the pleasure of paying with a card.
BMI have now cancelled my flights and while they're offering me a full refund they say they won't refund that £4.50. They say that the fee went to my bank.
Do I have a right to ask my bank to refund that charge?
Not only am I extremely annoyed that BMI have cancelled my flights which were part of a very carefully planned holiday, I'm doubly annoyed that someone will be unfairly holding on to £4.50.

In short, the answer is no, as the bank still had to process the payment.Best Regards

If you make enough fuss with BMI you will probably get it back - but it may cost you more in phone calls than it's worth.0

So it's just another way to end up out of pocket when a company messes you around, through no fault of your own. We'll add it to the list...
(Like it costs them £4.50 to process a payment anyway!)0

Its a fee the banks charged BMI and they pass on to you.0
