Tesco credit card

Last Tuesday I applied online for Tesco credit card - instant decision. I went through the process and accepted the t+c's and credit agreement and was told that I had a £3575 credit limit and an agreement number. The process was simple and I couldn't make head nor tail of whether I'd been accepted or not.

I rang Tesco money and was told that if a credit limit was displayed and if I had been given a long number then I had been accepted and would not recieve a notification e-mail just a welcome pack in the post after 5 days. Just got in from work and have a letter asking for my recent payslip to confirm my earnings, which is fine. Is this usual practice, and does anyone have experience of the tesco card process? How long should it take from this point?

Sorry to go on, but I'm not a very patient person!!:D
