Can anyone recommend a decent wireless / bluetooth mouse / keyboard combo?

I currently have an MS keyboard (wireless) and an MS notebook mouse (bluetooth).

The keyboard has an ugly wireless receiver that sits on my desk and I want rid of it. The mouse has just a tiny, unobtrusive USB dongle. PC will most likely be moving to the living room, so I want minimal wires etc.

Do wireless combos still come with the receiver, or can you buy them with just the USB dongle?

Have up to £100 to spend for a decent set

    £100?!

I found a wireless keyboard by BTC with a built-in joystick for £20, although it does have quite a sizeable USB receiver.

The receiver is radio-based rather than infrared, so you can tuck it out of sight behind the PC.

I'm currently using of these, and can't fault it, spent ages finding a wireless mouse with 5 buttons for a sensible price.

At first the mouse seemed really small but its just the design it actually fits nicely into your hand, certainly doesn't look or feel like I paid £9 for it.

Should've known I'd only get recommendations for cheap tat here.

    I'll try a tech site.

Ok so what exactly are your required specifications, you didn't list any.

Are you a gamer, a graphics designer? Why would a regular priced keyboard not suite you, or do you just have money to burn.

You asked for recommendations, for what appears to be a basic wireless keyboard and mouse set for general use.

People are trying to save you money, cause £100 is overkill. And its not cheap tat, its value for money - and I use my computer a lot. If I'd ordered them and found they didn't feel right I'd never of continued using them - as it turns out I like them, I think they are a bargain and I'd recommend then to anyone who wanted a nice feeling easy to use keyboard and mouse set for general use.

Both Marley and BIL love their Logitech MK250 wireless keyboard & mouse (available as a set, e.g. here from Dabs). This model seems to have a far greater wireless "range" than other brands/models they have tried. I think the dongle is small, I honestly can't check - we've got our computer sat behind the 42" television, using the tv as monitor!

I've always been a fan of Logitech peripherals and recently upgraded to the Logitech K800 illuminated wireless K800 keyboard. Ok fair enough the illumination whilst it looks very nice is just a gimmick, however the keyboard in terms of style/useability just oozes class. Its just like using a laptop keyboard. Its uses Logitech's unifying receiver which is really tiny and you can link a compatible mouse to the same receiver. I'm using the Logitech M705 mouse (just using one receiver) which again is class. Sure there are cheaper keyboards and mice out there but once you use these, you won't ever use a cheapo one again!

What a pleasant fellow you are. Nice of you to thank those who tried to help. If you want to blow £100 on a mouse and keyboard why on earth ask here in the first place - as you have observed most here are far more sensible than you.
