E: 31/05 "Grasstronomic" Trip to Ireland (written effort)

If you’re passionate about Irish beef and you’ve always wished you could get your thoughts and opinions on good food published, then here’s your chance! We’re looking for someone to champion our beautiful grass-fed beef and embark on a quest to unearth the story behind the flavour. The winner will take a culinary adventure to Ireland, meeting our farmers, butchers, restaurants and pubs and share their experiences for everyone to read.
1. Open to UK and residents aged 18 or over only, excluding employees of Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board), their immediate families, agents or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion.
2. To Enter the competition: visit https://www.irishbeef.co.uk, fully complete the online entry form and write why you deserve to win a trip to Ireland (up to 300 words maximum)
5. Only one entry per person is permitted.
6. The Prize: 1 x 3 nights trip to Dublin (Ireland) for a winner, including:
a. Economy flights from the nearest airport to Dublin
b. 4 star Hotel accommodation with breakfast.
c. Car hire for 4 days
d. Visit to a pre-defined Irish restaurant (includes an evening meal with drinks for one, maximum value of 50 Euros and interview with the Chef of the restaurant)
e. Visit to a local Irish pub (includes a lunch with drinks for 1, maximum value of 50 Euros and an interview with the Landlord of the pub)
f. Visit to a local Irish butcher (includes interview)
g. Visit to a local Irish farmer (includes interview)
h. Spending money to the value of 500 Euros.
7. Additional Conditions for the Holiday Prize:
a. UK transfers and UK internal flights, insurance, other meals and others costs are not included and are the responsibility of the winner.
b. The Winner is responsible for ensuring that she/he has a valid passport and any other visa or other documentation required.
c. All travel bookings will be made via the nominated travel agency and once a booking has been confirmed no changes are permitted. If a booking is cancelled no alternative tickets will be issued and the tickets for that calendar year will be deemed to have been used. For the avoidance of doubt, no compensation and/or refund will be provided. All travel must be booked via the Promoter`s travel agent. Travel must be taken at the stated times, no alternatives available. The specific accommodation cannot be named until the time of booking and all arrangements are subject to availability.
d. Once flight tickets have been issued, the Promoter, shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations caused by (but not limited to) weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, or any other circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter or Travel Companies.
e. All travel is subject to the airlines standard terms and conditions.
f. Prize flights cannot be used in conjunction with any airline loyalty programme, any other discount, discount coupon(s) or voucher(s), promotion(s) or special offer.
8. The winner will need to submit a daily diary of their events to Bord Bia / their advertising agency for potential publication on Facebook / Twitter / https://www.irishbeef.co.uk after the trip.
9. The prize is subject to availability and must be redeemed by 30th September 2011. Travel arrangements must be agreed and confirmed between the winner and Bord Bia by 30/06/11.
12. WINNER SELECTION – a two stage process.
Stage 1 Shortlisting : All entries will be reviewed using the following judging criteria to determine a shortlist of the top 20 entries.
Demonstrates passion for food, travel and Ireland
Presentation of a real viewpoint
Projects real personality in the entry
Writing technique and skill
In the event of a tie amongst entries to get on the shortlist, all such entries will be placed on the shortlist
Stage 2 : Judging. During the week commencing 01/06/11 the top 20 shortlisted entries will be reviewed by a judging panel containing at least one judge independent of the promoter. They will select the answer that best reflects the stated judging criteria above
