I don't thing it's beginning to wane, it's well and truly... erm... waned? Not sure that's the correct phase. Anway, the mania of investing in property has well and truly gone for most of Joe Public. High BTL deposit requirements and the real prospect of limited capital grwoth over the short to medium term.
However, what I think we'll see (are already seeing?) is a mass of people reluctantly renting out properties that they already own, have lived in and now can't see for what they paid for them. And this makes sense, as people are struggling to buy houses because prices aren't really falling and they can't get a mortgage even if they were.
I guess we'll have a situation where people who want to buy but can't rent the houses from people who want to sell but won't. Strange really.0 -
