Payment in full and refunds

in Credit cards
Hi all, quick question on CC process.
Simply, at date of statement I owed £320. Since then I have spent £100 and received a £220 refund. My current balance is now £200.
To pay in full do I still need to £320 to avoid a part payment? I assume the provider will accept a positive balance in these situations?
Cheers

Your only sure way is to phone them, ask and note the details of the person you spoke to if you rely on what they say. (Ask them to note on the system.)
Or say which card you have so someone here with experience of that card can say.
I answer this way because I remember different cardholders here having different experiences. It's usually OK if the refund makes the same statement as the original billing (not the case here). But certainly people have been caught where as in your case they subtracted the refund when making their payment. They ended up with interest (much to their horror).
Personally I have done exactly that and have been treated as having paid in full, though that was some years ago (think it was Barclaycard).0 -
Going by the OP's explanation, I would expect that only £200 need be paid to satisfy the full payment and not incur any interest.
Or is there a twist in how CC companies work this out?0
