i actually love that FWM one you've found in John Lewis, I've seen it in store and it's beautiful quality and lovely in chiffon for a summer wedding, i think it's beautiful and a fraction of the Dessy equivalent which my sis tried in our bridesmaid shop!

Thank you for the suggestions and help. I think my brain is fried now, I have been sitting here for 3 hours looking  We have some good ideas for our look in the shops tomorrow and hopefully they will have that FWM one in, especially as someone has seen it is the flesh :D I will report back after a hopefully successful shopping trip.

Coast or Monsoon would be my suggestions too. They have some lovely bridesmaid type dresses that arent too "bridesmaidy" - bit like this...

Frasers also have quite a few. This one is nice and also comes with straps.

I don't know if you've bought yet or not, but I recommend a website called https://www.sexyher.co.uk
It sounds dodgy but I promise it isn't! I've bought a formal dress from there before a few times and they can make any dress in any colour you want. Plus they can do made to measure, so you send in your measurements and they make it.
Not too expensive either, I don't think. I did buy a dress from there for my BM, which turned out too dark (I changed my mind on the shade of purple) and they let me return it no bother.
    carpe diem

I am back and we have a dress, the FWM one. http://www.johnlewis.com/226697/Style.aspx We saw it, she tried it on and that was that. It is quite a relief!
