When to apply again for Santander Zero?

Hi guys,

I've wanted a Santander Zero for some time, as I often travel abroad and my Nationwide setup is now largely useless.

I currently use a Nationwide Visa card which I want to bin in favour of a Santander Zero.

On the advice of my local branch I applied for a Zero last October and received a worthless £1000 credit limit, because I already had a conventional Santander Mastercard with an £8k limit on it. They refused to swap the limits over, or reduce the limit on one card, etc etc, so in a fit of ill-advised and irrational rage I closed the Zero then and there.

I'm now wondering when the best time to apply again would be - I'm after a credit limit thats decent enough that I can bin my Nationwide card. I've also since reduced the limit on my other Santander card to £3k, in the hope that might make a difference (I'd happily bin that as well, I just want a Zero!).

I bank with Santander and hold a useful amount of savings with them as well.

Should I leave it as long as possible before applying again to be in with the best chance of being accepted with a decent limit this time? The £1k they gave me last time was useless - by the time you've booked 2 flights it's maxed out! I understand why they did it, it was just frustrating to have £1k on the card I want and £8k on a card I don't want..

Thanks guys.

I can't see a problem as it's been 6 months since you last applied. Also you stand yourself in a better stead of getting the higher limit as you've reduced other one to 3k. So long as your credit file is fine and income levels have been steady you'll prob get accepted
