Article Writing - Best and Worst?

After quite a bit of research (and procrastination if I'm honest!) I've decided to give article writing a go.

I have an Adsense account set up and already working, although only a small trickle of income from Webanswers coming through at the moment.

I think I'm going to start with Xomba as I like the lay-out the best and am going to aim for one article a day as of today.

Thought it would be nice if anyone else would like to join me in the challenge of 'instead of keep talking about it, I'm actually going to sit down and do this!'

Also thought it could be helpful if we could get a thread going with information on the different sites and people's experience of them, how much they find they have earnt after writing x numbers of articles and things like that.

There's a lot of info on these boards but it definitely might be easier to have it all pulled together in one thread.

And I'm off! :D

I'd be interested, but I don't think I can manage one per day. I'd like to aim for 3 per week, maybe?

Thanks for that Steved74, will check that out.

Hi Zelazny, 3 per week sounds good. I think just having something to aim for is what helps otherwise if you're like me you end up putting it off! :)

I wrote one article yesterday but haven't found the photos for it yet so haven't posted it up so am behind already!

Have also on second thoughts decided to go for Infobarrel. Apparently you need about 100 articles to see results so that's going to be my first goal. :)

I'm quite new to this, but as I understand it, it's based on views and clicks on ads, google adsense basically.

Infobarrel give you 75% which is one of the best splits of all the sites.

My understanding is that article writing takes time and effort to begin with but can generate a steady income stream with less effort as time goes on, and obviously you develop the skills to write articles faster too.

I'm not expecting to get rich at all, just hoping that I might be able to give up just one of my extra jobs!

Hello all, I just wanted to add that I write for a site also, though it hasn't been mentioned above. Beccie you are right in saying it takes time and effort, it is not a get rich quick scheme. Your writing skills do improve over time and it becomes easier.

I would like to join your efforts of an article a day, as I logically know the potential of earnings. I am however, my own worst enemy and need a gentle kick in the none sunshine area.

If you would like an invite to the site I write for PM with your email address. It is a good site in that if you struggle for inspiration, titles to write to are offered. Also plenty of competitions offering cash for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, I have won 1st place so it's not too much of a task. Payment can be requested twice monthly and I have received payment without a hitch.

Articles you have written all continue to generate revenue whilst you creat your next master piece. Tweeting your article links helps massively to generate money and it only takes a few minutes.

    Have fun everyone xx

Why not try hubpages and squidoo? You know after Google Panda updating, many people think hubpages and squidoo are the most suitable platforms for article marketing now, and if you give them a try you'll notice it's true. Of course, artcile marketing needs good writing skills and ability to find hot/right topics.

    Hi Sherry24,

Have sent you a PM with my email address.

I have managed to write 18 articles since first posting, so not quite 1 a day but better than I had been doing! :)

I'd like to give this a go.

I'm fairly opinionated, and do enjoy writing. Do these articles get posted on a certain website, or are you to set up your own?

I'd be interested to learn more about people's experiences. I have experience of writing articles and my student loan is getting very low. I could use some income.
