does anyone know if is the same as the human lactulose - Ive read a few reports that it is but thought I would double check on here first as it is so much cheaper than what the rip-off vets charge :T

Lactulose is used to treat constipation as it draws water into the gut and softens the stool. It can also be used to treat various types of liver disease and hepatic encephalopathys.

Unfortunately for the very reason it is good for constipation, it can be hard on a cats' kidneys. It is also loaded with sugar which has implications for diabetes over a prolonged period. Sorry to pee on the lactulose parade!
