Been sworn at by Pizza Hut Manager

Got home and was desperate for a much so gave my local northwood Pizza hut a call and hey presto 40 mins later my evening much arrived! Part of the order was a box of nachos which literally had 10 nachos in it sprinkled with cheese and tomato sauce. To make it worse they were all soggy!!! so rang up pizza hut and fter 5 minutes on hold got through to the front desk whi put me through to someone else. i explained the problem to him and his answer was the nachos will be collected within 30 mins and if upon inspection they are soggy we will send out another box of nachos which will take another 30-40 mins as we are busy! at this point i said why should i have to wait so long for your incompetence and can i please speak to your manager, to which he replied how dare you call us incomptent, i am the f**cking manager and you can f**k off at which point he hang up!! :mad:

So being the calm :D indivuadal i always am i jump in the car and drive doen to pizza hut ( its only 3 mins away) and ask to speak to the manage and guess what he has suddenly had to go home!! was basically offered a replacment nachos and was told there was nothing else they could do!!

To be honest im still in shock at being so crudley spoken to by someone in a managers postion !!! i am going back on monday when i am told the manager will be in!!!

  • Put in a complaint straight away to their head office, that is disgraceful, and also use a different Pizza place, they don't deserve the money

  • If you were only 3 mins away why wait 40 mins for a delivery?
    You should have taken them back and asked for compensation for having to bring them back I bet you wouldn' t have been insulted by him then

    I wouldn't. Go straight for the highest person you can find - a Director at the least. !!!!!! rolls downhill..... ;)
    If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • I suspect that it was not actually the manager that spoke to you..it was someone who KNEW the manager was not there!!!:eek: ;)

    I agree with Sarah, doubt very much it was the manager.

    Even if it was and you complain to someone higher up the chain I dont see whether they will deal with it properly as there is no proof that this actually happened, its your word against "the managers"

    I do suspect the same as above that it wasn't the manager.

    To be honest though using phrases such as 'your incompetence' is one of the worst things you can say when making a complaint. You've instantly then made an enemy of the person you want to help you! I say this from working in retail.

    They say they were/are busy, many companies can have a very tight staffing budget which is none of the companies employes fault which often has an effect so service but that means that means the phrase 'your incompetence' is inaccurate as the person you say it to will have very little influence on the factors of the service they can provide during busy times.

    I'm not of course saying this justifies the above, but an example which is often forgotten that your speaking to a person who's under a lot of pressure in a situation which if they had full control over it would most likely do it a lot differently.

    Sounds like it could have been six of one and half a dozen of the other. Would be interesting to hear the managers side of the story but I guess that isn't going to happen.

    Swearing and the customer when faced with aversity is actually a complete lack of CS skills.

    At worst he should have said "Please moderator your tone or I'll will terminate this call". What he said after he put the phone down behind closed doors would have been between him and his staff.

    From what the OP says the staff were probably under huge strain and one person snapped - at the wrong time.

    Personally I would write to HO but don't turn it into a major complaint. suggest that HO looks into the causes of the problem and writes back to you with their findings. This will put the OP in a better light, expressing concern for the staff having to work possibly under overstressed conditions and suggesting that remadies are sought before the business suffers as a result.

    Write a very stong letter to them do not leave out the swear words and ensure they realise how upset you and your family are by all of this.
