Sorry to hear you got turned down, BUT
Are you sure you have no problems? Sounds like you need to look at your CRA files, are you employed and on the Electoral roll?
Sounds like you need to look into whats wrong as something appears to be going against youOpinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others

I agree you need to check if there is a problem. Vanquis are always taking on people with no credit. Try capital one they are good too.0

When i had no credit, Neither Capital One or Vanquis would take me on, I was on the electoral roll, Full time employment, Had a full current account.
Just shows getting credit in this day and age for first time borrowers or people with adverse credit is extremely difficult.
Yet in America, Capital one, And many other card providers offer secured Credit cards, Surely that would be a good market for a credit card provider in the uk ?' You only live once ! Don't live to regret the past, But to enjoy the future '

I find it much easier getting credit as a discharged bankrupt as I did as an 18 yo with no credit history atall.
When I was 18 I was given a Three contract but had to pay £100 deposit, bank account with no overdraft, and £200 capital one limit.
Since BR I passed the credit check with Three no deposit, Capital One £300 limit, HSBC Current Account £1,000 OD, £4,000 loan, etc.
Didn't take most of what I was offered, or closed the accounts soon after, but goes to show...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I know what you mean, but I truly believe anyone can have similar luck.
Don't apply more than once every three months
Don't apply until your youngest account is six months old
Perform the post bankruptcy clean up and follow it to the letter
Have a provident loan or cashbuilder loan throughout the year of BR
Make sure you're on the ER for as long as possible - avoid moving
Get your Vanquis card sorted & building history right off the bat
If every discharged bankrupt did this I reckon they'd be alright. Perhaps not get a £1,000 OD but sill should be able to get all the Aqua, Vanquis, Progress, Full current a/c, mobile contract, within a couple of years, no probs.
Problems arise when people aren't fastidious with their approach I reckon
EDIT: I was very naughty though in leaving my LTSB Current A/C open throughout BR. Didn't use it until discharge, just left it dormant with £0 bal, but within a year or my starting to use it again they offered me a £3,000 OD:beer:
Next on the cards is applying for a Mastercard from HSBC. Just as a trial-and-error move. Watch this space, I'm applying on MayDayCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I have just checked Equifax and there is nothing wrong with my file, every thing is up to date but there has been a lot of searches done from Sky and some other people, there is quite a few, could this be the problem? foot print of what ever it is?
Shall I give Capital one a go?0 -
Sky don't credit search customers.
But yes, those searches will have an adverse effect. You shouldn't apply more than once every 2-3 months, or more than two or three times in any six month period - more, and creditors will think you're either a) desperate for credit because of bad finances or b) a victim of identity theft
Wait until you've had no more than two searches in the last six months, on both experian and equifax, then apply for a Capital One card.
Good luck!Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
