Water leaking from pipe on side of house

I think it's the overflow pipe - but don't really know for sure :o.

It basically runs the whole time the boiler is on and has caused horrible staining on the wall.

The water looks clean and is sort of luke-warm.

Any suggestions on how to fix (cheaply). Our central heating doesn't work (well it might do, but it's so noisy we're worried it will blow up so haven't used it for 2 years :o)

It sounds like condensate. Is is a condensing boiler?

    It's a combi boiler.

It's about as steady a flow as if I had the tap in the bathroom turned on - it's not just a wee drip drip drip, it's more of a gush followed by a stream (sorry, that doesn't sound right, but not sure how else to describe it).

First are you sure its a pipe connected to the boiler or is it an overflow from roofspace tanks?

If its the boiler and a plastic pipe its the condensate but it should not have been installed just to dribble down the wall. It should be installed into a drain. If its a copper pipe it will be the Pressure Relief Valve outlet. Either your system has too much pressure in it for one reason or another and the PRV is just lifting or you did have too much pressure in it at one time, the PRV lifted but has failed to seat properly again due to carp from the system getting in it - thus its permanently open.

I think you need to get someone in to look at the whole setup particularly if there are other issues which it seems there are.

    Cheers

As above. Could be the expansion vessel is flat or perished and causing over pressure in the system. Once this has happened a few times, muck can settle in the PRV preventing it from closing properly again.
