Hi, I had been suffering from globus sensation (like a lump in throat/chest) which has now gone and left me with severe acid reflux. Initially my doctor thought this was was more likely to be tension related because I have been suffering from anxiety. However I am now more relaxed that I have ever been (am 11 weeks pregnant -delighted), have stepped down from a role in work that I didn't want, seeing a CBT therapist and have been taking better care of myself all round but the constant burping and burning feeling in my chest and back is so exhausting and becoming unbearable. I am convinced that the little bit that I am still feeling in my throat is due to the acid reflux.
Someone recommended kinesiology as an alternative therapy and there is some info on various sites on the internet but am wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experience of it

Constant burping and heartburn at 11 weeks pregnant sounds pretty par for the course to me! Congratulations!
There is a girl near Dromore/Dromara Co Down Vivien Hutchinson I think she is called who is a very good kinesiologist, I went to her years and years ago but know she is still about as I bumped into her at the alternative health show in the Ramada last year.
I am sure someone else will come up with contact details for her.
Good luck with the pregnancy!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
Thanks for your reply but to be honest this has being going on from the start of the year. Just feel I need to do something about it before it gets even worse.0

I had some sessions with a Kinesiologist friend of my sons and although I was and still am sceptical both my husband and I did have some success for painful conditions. I know it can be expensive and I didn't have to pay but I would use the therapy again as I do feel my pain was less after the sessions in fact I was very surprised to get relief from my painful Arthritic shoulder.. I'm not recommending it but I did feel the benefit myself.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

The wife has been to one in Holywood a couple of times, she's had her chakras (?) and hips realigned, told to avoid wheat stuff for a while as she'd developed an allergy to it. Was told she'd developed a virus as a result of someone shouting at her (!) and a few other bit's an bob's. Sounded like rubbish to me but she felt better after it. I'd imagine it's psychosomatic thing.
Although the kinesiologist fiddles with your chakra's and stuff it's a fairly recent thing and doesn't appear to have any basis in ancient eastern techniques like acupuncture etc.
It's only about 40 quid so if it doesn't work it's not an overly expensive waste of money.0
