Soaking said petticoats in sugar solution to make them stick out! Anyone remember paper nylon petticoats?

Going to bed in rollers? That didn't happen to me for long, as I mostly had long hair - straight and drippy looking like Sandie Shaw!

Do you remember when tights were introduced? 9/11 from Olivers, a horrid colour and thick. Well, they had to last at that price!

Bought my first pair of tights in '66 - such a relief after all that shackling up in the morning :j
My first pair of stilletos in the '50s cost £3.19.11, over a week's wages  - now stilletos cost £2.99 from Primark :D

I was a "Mod" so never wore stilletos. Mind you that was in the early 60s, not 50s.
