But, why not work the extra month for the extra wages? Saying you are scared of not being paid is a silly answer as when you start a job you can work for at least a month before being given a contract. Seems more to this to meBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I had asked for a new/amended contract. Why could they not have just given me a new page when i asked...one sentence needed a change. I was not in the wrong. I tried to sort everything out. And should i have stayed or not wasnt really the point. I dont think employers shouldnt have that sort of power to threaten you then delay things when they are wrong. Im intrested to know what "seems more to this to me"paddedjohn wrote: »But, why not work the extra month for the extra wages? edit: Yes you can work a month without a contract but you normally get a letter of acceptance. If the wrong date (feb) had been given to HR to payroll i'd have no way to prove. Btw i didnt work at the company site but sub contracted out.0 -
A new/amended contract wouldn't have guaranteed you'd have been paid anyway. Sounds to me like you cut your own nose off to spite your face, did yourself out of a months work.0

If they continued to let you come into work for a further month and nobody said anything to you, do you really think they would be able to get away with not paying you?0

I didnt work with them-sub contracted out. I dont know, i didnt trust them. It would be up to me to prove i was in..how do you do that?
No a new one wouldnt insure i was paid, but i would have more protection. I dont understand why they didnt just give me one. Instead i got the attuide of "we arnt giving you one, youll work till the date we say or well tell the jsa and get you suspended" .Everytime i tried to get through to them i got shouted at and the phone put down on me.She kept threating i wouldnt get jsa if i left and would make if hard. They werent nice people to work for but i would have taken the money. If i got the contract i would have stayed.0
