Tent advice

whilst smaller tents may seem appealing due to the ease of putting them up, they ain't much fun to be in unless you are just using them to sleep in - and certainly no fun with kids
for me, it is important to have space, to be able to stand up and to have somewhere to chuck muddy wellies etc - it's also nice to have seperate space to sleep so all the bedding can be kept away from other stuff
having been camping a lot as a kid and now since having my own kids, we have made several errors with the whole tent buying and only really found the ideal tent when going to a place where they are all pitched up for you to compare them all against each other - when we did this we ended up buying a gelert tahoma 6 - it is no longer for sale so you can get them at discounted prices like this one http://www.campmania.co.uk/Item--0-cat-0-brand-601-Gelert_Tahoma_6_4.aspx what's nice about this tent is that it has a large living area and a front and back door so when it's hot, you can open both doors and get a through draft
it's it big but it is easy to put up, it comes in a soft suitcase

Definitely go to a either a go outdoors or another camp shop that has tents setup so you can get a feel them in terms of space and make a note of the price of any you like.I read somewhere that you go for a tent thats an extra space than how many areplanning on staying in it eg 2 people look for a 3/4 man tent, the tent i have is classed as a 3/ man but 4 people couldnt fit in it maybe 3 at a push.0
