Take them to an opticians. They will take them from you and send them off to charity.

Specsavers have a collection box for donated glasses too.

The charity is Vision Aid Overseas, it doesn't cost for any of the big opticians to send glasses as there is an arrangement with the big optical courier for the UK to take these for free.

The glasses are taken to prisons to be dismantled, sorted out and cleaned up before being sent to developing countries to be distributed by qualified opticians.

If you want to know more information about where you can take your glasses to donate call VAO on 01293 535016 or visit https://www.vao.org.uk glasses cannot be sent to the charity direct from private individuals.

Your local Lions club may take them - many clubs have collection boxes in opticians etc
