Hi - Trying to open word documents on xp computer with office 2007. Had no problems when I shut down the other day.
Now, when I try to open any word document Microsoft Office is trying to reconfigure itself and I keep getting error message 1304 -
"Error 1304. Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\1033\XLINT32.DLL
Verify that you have access to that directory. Have done both retry - which won't let me access anything, then cancelled.
Does anyone have the slightest idea what's going on???
Thanks for any advice.

Try doing a diagnostic check. As you can't get into Word, open Excel
Click on the Office button, (the lovely coloured one).
Click on Excel Options at the bottom
Click on Resources at the bottom
Click on Run Microsoft Office Diagnostics
See if it comes up with anything0 -
If it's a new problem, then at worst you could try running system restore to a point where it was working.0
