Ha ha the old PVA in or on the plaster debate. I wouldn't put pva anywhere except on the old plaster to seal it so it doesn't suck the moisture out the new plaster!
Surely putting PVA in the mix just makes it dry wrong and hard to paint!0 -

i would never put pva in plaster like dave says you use it to seal the old plaster.
you can always add a little cream of tar tar which slows the setting time thus giving you longer to work with or even a little washing up liquid:beer: LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -
