hi
my stepdad is looking for some cheap pebbles in devon, his last load came from trago and cost about above £100 for a builders sack delivered by an old bloke with a trolley:eek:
He thought the ones i got at £28.99 for a builders sack were very cheap but they came from a midlands supplier so not sure how much extra he would have to fork out on delivery to devon.
was hoping some one local in devon would have ideas of where to get some as cheap as possible.
thanks in advance
jo
( i have to be nice to him as he took a builders sack of rubbish back to devon to tip for me- saving me the £70 quid sack bag collection charge:eek::rotfl:)

Not sure if legal, but as I recall many Devon beaches consist of pebbles, maybe quietly take a few bags away?Numerus non sum0

Hi, get him to try Wiltshires in Babbacombe, Torquay, not sure how much they will be but we had loads of chippings,( 20mm limestone) for our drive @£36.50 per builders bag.

worth giving them a callTreat other's how you like to be treated.

It's not possible to go and help yourself to pebbles from a beach. This is because it is illegal to do so. If everyone were to try and do that, then a lot of a beach could end up disappearing and ruin it for everyone else.0

It's a huge county. Whereabouts is he? Someone may have a good supplier near to him.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

thanks that sounds worth a try:T
re knicking pebbles, wish you could but sadly you cant, brixham breakwater beach is man made from pebbles, i would probably be a blessing if someone took the pebbles and kindly replaced with sand:p***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -

Sorry to be pedantic, but it is possible even if illegal

May I ask which supplier did you use? I'm interested in buying some pebbles for our garden. Thanks!0 -
hi
i used these
http://www.earlswoodnurseries.co.uk/index.asp?page=productDetail&ProductID=5305&sub=159
they are a good size pebble and look quite attractive, the sack i got covered a 6 x 8 shed area with room on each side for trim, about a foot all round iwould say. my garden is a bit ofa slant though so was slightly thick on one part to levelup.***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
Also interested in the Midlands supplier - going to put some on a raised bed to keep cats away. :OD0
