Howdens built in appliance costs

Morning all,
I have a quick question regarding Howden's built in appliance costs if anybody out there has any experience.
I have been quoted £432 for the Bosch built under freezer, £403 for the Bosch built under fridge, both seem way over the top when I can pick them up at Comet for £360 and £330 plus a further 10% off through a works scheme.
However, when looking at the schedule of units, I noticed that they did not include any 600mm appliance base units, so, do Howdens generally lump the appliance cost and the base cost together?
I need to work out whether its cheaper to buy Bosch units elsewhere or through Howdens.
BTW, I know I could just ring them tomorrow when they open but I am too impacient and would prefer to get all my costs/estimates sorted before I go back to work.
Thanks in advance.

You don't have a base unit for an integrated appliance (other than ovens), it just sits on the floor and plinth is fitted infront of it. You will however have 2 x 600mm fascias to fix to the front of them (which wont be included in the cost of the appliance) If you can buy them cheaper, then just tell Howdens you will source them youself. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Hi
Or ask them to match the price. But surely as you have found 2 items Howdens have quoted for are unrealistically priced then it must make you question whether the rest of the products are over priced as well!0 -

How can Howens be over-priced with their amazing "discounts" ???If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

You can just see then trying it on their own brand appliances though:
Lamona Gas hob: retail price £1600 - 80% discount - You pay £320
Now THAT would be funny...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

That explains that then, although, they also included a built under double oven in my quote, would I need a base unit for that, the oven doesn't sit on the floor does it?0 -
I got my kitchen from howdens but appliances from currys/comet and didnt have any problems getting appliances to fit the howdens units.Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.0

99% of built under double ovens don't need a housing. There are some which sit on the floor, but the majority are fitted to the units (usually via end support panels) on either side.If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Thank you all for your help, I am relieved that there will be no further costs for additional base units, I can look elsewhere to make a saving on the Bosch appliances :T0
